Organization at a glance

Damurhuda Bondhon Protibondhi Songstha is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Chuadanga district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 10 November 2006 Being started involving 300 persons with disabilities with support from own initiatives now the organization has total 1,450 members; among them male 700 and female 750.

The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities. According the bylaws of the organization there are 21 members in its General Committee and 7 members are in the Executive Committee. The staff and volunteers implement the organizational activities following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote rights of persons with disabilities and improving their lives with supports from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
